The New York Knicks is considered the most valuable franchise in the NBA and were listed by 2017 Forbes report to worth an estimated $3.3 billion. They were in the long run eliminated in the Eastern Conference semifinals where Indiana Pacers outrun and have never made it the playoffs since then. Since the 2000 season, the New York Knicks have put a great fight back to regain their former glory only being able to win their first Divisional Title in 19 years for both the 20 seasons. The team managed to make two appearances in the NBA Finals both in 19 again they failed to win an NBA Championship during this period. During this period, the team was known to play hard defensive games under head coaches Pat Riley and Jeff Van Gundy. Red Holzman fruitfully guided the New York Knicks in the 19 NBA Championships, however, in the 1980s the team displayed mixed performances including 6 playoff appearances but they failed to play in the NBA Finals. When Red Holzman joined the team in the late 1960s as head coach, they did start to regain their initial dominance. Starting from around 1950, the New York Knicks appeared three straight consecutive times in the NBA Finals however, these proved losing efforts. The Knicks has been successful in their early years and was likely NBA playoff contenders under the team’s head coach Joe Lapchick. The New York Knicks are playing their home matches at the Madison Square Garden and was created by Ned Irish in 1946. The New York Knicks are based in New York City in the Manhattan Borough as a member of the Atlantic Division playing in the Eastern Conference. The New York Knickerbockers, popularly referred to as the Knicks competes in the National Basketball Association ( NBA).
